You might be asking "What is so special about this new line?". As we all know photography has taken a new path with digital, and everyone is enjoying the faster turn around time, rapid share by posting the photographs online, lower cost for having a photo shoot, and etc.. But, the black and white image quality is different to the film photography.

For those who really know about music, they could tell the difference between digital sounds and analog sounds. Just like music, the digital imagery is not equal to the film imagery. The reason for that is the time film photography took to evolve over 100 years to be where it is today. Digital photography has less than 20 years on its history. Nikon introduced its first digital line in 1999, which is not far from where we started digital. We chose Nikon because of higher qualitities on their optics. Although the quality of our Nikon D3 is amazing and cannot be compared to our previous Nikon's top of the line professional digital cameras, we feel that 35mm format is not comparable to medim format film.

So, we've launched our medium format black and white film line which is about four times the exposure area of 35 mm. When we use larger film, the photographs are significantly clearer and sharper. That also means that we can enlarge the photograph much larger with clarity.

Even though you will enjoy the benefit from this kind of film, the cost to you will be higher due to cost of films. Not to mention the longer processing period. That is why this line is not for everyone. This line is for those who really demand the best quality, not the price.
